Podcast Discussion: From Anxiety to Optimism
A conversation about how to shift our focus and see opportunities all around us. Plus a mini-edition of Good News Friday.
First, let’s start with a mini-Good News Friday to get our minds smiling:
The US Housing industry remains resilient: 29% of homes sold for cash in September; there were 2.6 offers per sale (buyers are not absent); and 26% of homes sold above list price. 💪
The US Federal Reserve will continue its “pause” on meddling with the economy. Consumers responded by spending on retail, online and restaurants - up 0.7% in September. Employers added 336,000 jobs in September, too.
Swedish scientists can now recover 100% of aluminum and 98% of lithium when recycling electric vehicle batteries
Doctors effectively used sound waves to destroy liver cancer in Michigan

I’m also sharing a podcast interview I did last week with a great friend, Michael Fanning, whose coaching practice applies the Ninja Selling philosophy to mentoring salespeople. We discussed ways to shift our focus from “what could go wrong” to “what’s actually going right” in our lives and careers. And many other things that help transform anxiety into optimism.
The conversation was perfect timing. I’ve been exploring this issue all summer with clients, and personally working through some health hiccups. It was a fun conversation and our 10 takeaways are included below for subscribers. They make a great pairing with business planning for next year.
Doing philosophy in this industry is so rewarding: the natural inclination of so many people to share helpful ideas is rewarding. Be sure to check out previous episodes of this podcast. It’s definitely an “Always Inspiring” recharge on my favorites playlist.
Here’s the list of “10 Ways to Turn Anxiety into Optimism” from our discussion.
