I’ll take two tacos and a life-saving moment, please…
In our extra-good-news story of the week, a Taco Bell manager jumped into action and performed CPR on a baby whose mother had pulled into the drive-through. ABC News’s Good Morning America reported that Becky Arbaugh heard a scream through the window at the Philadelphia-area fast food restaurant, and ran outside to see what was happening. The customer, Natasha Long, was holding the unresponsive body of her 11-week-old son. Becky jumped into action, asking colleagues to call 911 as she performed CPR on the newborn infant.
“I told her to give him to me and I performed CPR. I was trying to calm her down and comfort her and reassure her that he will be fine,” she told ABC. By the time the ambulance arrived, Becky had the baby breathing again - and the mother calmed down. “I thought of myself as a mom with another mom who needed help,” Becky said. The two women have been in contact almost daily since, underscoring the bond-making power of being a good fellow citizen - and, of course, a mom!
